Zach lives in Kansas City, MO with his wife Shandy and their three beautiful daughters, Claire, Sophie and Thea and even though he’s given up bronc riding, you’ll still find him wearing cowboy boots.

Michael Canic

Michael Canic, Ph.D.

Michael is the president and chief flagbearer of Making Strategy Happen, a high impact consulting firm that helps committed leaders turn ambition into strategy, and strategy into reality. Previously, he managed the consulting division of The Atlanta Consulting Group. Prior to that, at FedEx, he had the responsibility for implementing service quality strategy in field operations.

A compelling speaker, Michael has delivered more than 600 presentations to audiences on four continents, and has been awarded the highest earned designation in the professional speaking industry.

His book, Ruthless Consistency: How Committed Leaders Execute Strategy, Implement Change, and Build Organizations That Win, became a #1 bestseller, and was selected by the Enterpriser’s Institute as one of the “Top 10 Leadership Books to Stretch Your Skills in 2021.”

Michael received a Ph.D. in the psychology of human performance, during which time he studied with future Nobel Prize winner, Daniel Kahneman. He is also a former national championship-winning college football coach, and has been selected for Marshall Goldsmith’s 100 Coaches global initiative.

An adventure traveler, Michael and wife, Bernadine, have been to more than 40 countries. He has journeyed by camel in the Sahara, trekked the mountains of Northern Pakistan, and, for some inexplicable reason, swum with piranha in the Amazon.


Adrian Hochstadt

Adrian Hochstadt, JD, CAE
Chief Executive Officer, Veterinary Medical Association Executives (VMAE)

Adrian Hochstadt is CEO of the Veterinary Medical Association Executives (VMAE), an organization of executives who manage veterinary associations throughout the world, and is dedicated to help VMA executives create thriving organizations and provide effective leadership. Previously, Adrian served as Deputy CEO and Director of State Advocacy for the American Veterinary Medical Association, performing various leadership and management duties, including helping to create and shape the AVMA’s state advocacy program, working closely with state and allied veterinary medical associations in advocating on behalf of veterinary medicine. In addition, Adrian has served in executive roles at the North American Veterinary Community, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and American Bar Association.

Adrian serves on the CATalyst Council Board of Directors and AVMA/AAVMC Commission for a Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive Veterinary Profession. He earned the credential of Certified Association Executive (CAE) from the American Society of Association Executives, and is an active member of the Association Forum of Chicagoland.

Adrian has a law degree from Northern Illinois University and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Having raised their three adult children, Adrian and his wife, Barb, share their suburban Chicago home with Cleo, who is part miniature schnauzer/part terrier (to the best of their knowledge). Adrian enjoys civic engagement, travel, gardening, and sports; especially playing basketball, biking, and rooting for certain Chicago professional teams.


Kent D. McClure

Associate Executive Vice President of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Chief Advocacy Officer

Kent D. McClure, DVM, JD. Dr. McClure is an Associate Executive Vice President of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Chief Advocacy Officer, leading the federal and state advocacy teams. He has over 20 years of experience advocating on policy issues important to veterinary medicine and veterinary practice. He is also a trustee on the AVMA trusts, including the AVMA PLIT and LIFE. Prior to AVMA, Dr. McClure was the General Counsel for the Animal Health Institute, the trade association for manufacturers of animal health products. He has practiced law in Dallas, Texas where he represented healthcare providers in malpractice litigation and has practiced veterinary medicine in Arlington and Austin, Texas. His DVM is from Texas A&M University, and his law degree is from the University of Texas.


Matt Musselman

Matt Musselman
Chief Operating Officer, Dairy Farmers of America

Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer for Farm Services at Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) in Kansas City, Matt Musselman brings a unique perspective on animal husbandry, farm operations and business strategy to serving the cooperative’s farmer-owners. At DFA, Musselman leads a team responsible for delivering a broad offering of products and services to farmers, including insurance, lending, and feed & animal health supplies, along with risk management and renewable energy solutions, and a variety of other member programs.

Growing up on his family’s dairy and beef farm in Iowa, Musselman has been passionate about animal agriculture from the beginning, leading to deep involvement in 4-H and service as a state FFA officer.  He has dedicated his career to leading teams to bring innovative animal health and nutrition solutions to market. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science and Ag Business from Iowa State University, along with a master’s degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois. Prior to joining DFA in 2017, Musselman held leadership positions with several other large players in the industry, including Farmland Industries, Boehringer Ingelheim, Parnell Pharmaceuticals, and Vets Plus.


Brad Seipel

Executive Vice President and Group Director of Account Management, M/A/R/C® Research

Brad Seipel is Executive Vice President and Group Director of Account Management at M/A/R/C® Research, which is a consulting firm focused on providing insights and strategies that enable clients to make informed decisions to move their business forward. In his role Brad serves as executive leader of M/A/R/C’s Animal Health Practice—a practice area he has been serving for 20 years.

With his knowledge of Animal Health and thought leadership in the space, Brad is a frequently sought guest speaker for a myriad of conferences and webinars, including Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX), Western Veterinary Conference (WVC), Owners of Doggy Daycares (ODD) Ball in 2022, a three-part webinar series for DVM360 in 2021, and the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor Homecoming Event in 2020.

Brad is a member of the Insights Association and sits on the board of directors of Project Evergreen, a national non-profit organization committed to bringing people together to create healthy green spaces for both humans and animals alike.
